Quiddity Consulting provides advisory services that build competent, unified, and perpetuating leadership teams around the essential elements of an organization’s distinctive vision, mission, and culture … its quiddity.
Quiddity refers to the inherent nature, essence, purpose and distinctive characteristics of something, or as Aristotle said, “the what it is to be (a given thing)” ... its whatness.
Our primary market consists of classical Christian schools, especially those utilizing a collaborative format that meaningfully integrates parents into the educational process.
OUR SERVICES
Aimed at classical Christian school heads and boards—along with their leadership teams—we offer advisory services to help school leaders:
Pinpoint why their school exists … and why it deserves to continue existing;
Focus on the parts of their purpose, identity, and character/culture that are most important to them and their community; and
Collectively train and coach their leadership talent around that common vision, along the way gaining a deeper understanding of the structure of their organization as well as their own—and each other’s—unique leadership styles, strengths, and ambitions.
Services include group training and one-on-one coaching to senior school leaders; governance and strategic planning support to boards and heads of school; special project consulting for campus development, financing, or other growth opportunities; interim headship during times of transition; and facilitation of access to an established “lab” school to meet other classical Christian collaborative school leaders and see results in action.

OUR STORY
Having co-founded and led a classical Christian collaborative school of almost 700 students for just under 20 years, Jef and Starrla Fowler possess a breadth and depth of experience in virtually every facet of starting and operating a high-growth school, including the acquisition and development of a 97-acre campus in Austin, Texas.
That school, Veritas Academy, is one of the oldest and largest of its kind, having combined rigorous, classical, Christian curricula and pedagogy with a family-friendly format wherein parents are equipped and empowered with the time, training, and tools to genuinely and effectively participate in the educational process.
Today, both the school (via one of its foundational pillars of serving as a “resource” school to others) and the Fowlers continue their commitment to classical, Christian education—particularly with collaborative schools which respect the role of, and fully engage, the parents—by devoting their time and other resources to training and coaching senior and emerging leaders in classical Christian schools throughout the country.
